Rudeboy warns of social media’s dangers, urges responsible use

Date:

One half of the defunct P-Square group, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has sounded the alarm about the dangers of social media misuse among Nigerian youths.

In a candid post on his Instagram story, he warned that those who exploit social media for clout and trending purposes are on a perilous path that could lead to destruction.

The singer wrote: “Social media is going to destroy a lot of people. You might think it’s just cruise, clout, or to trend… Your eye go clear.”

Rudeboy’s concerns come amid growing worries about the unregulated nature of social media in Nigeria.

The lack of oversight has led to a surge in cyberbullying, fake news, hate speech, and defamation.

A proposed bill aimed at regulating social media in the country has been met with mixed reactions, sparking intense debate online.

The singer’s warning serves as a reminder of the need for responsible social media use. As the platform continues to shape public discourse, Rudeboy’s cautionary message urges users to be mindful of their online actions and the potential consequences that may follow.
