As one of the top-seeded nations, the Flamingos were placed in Pot 1, alongside fellow heavyweights such as the United States, Spain, Japan, Morocco, and reigning champions North Korea. The seeding was determined by each team’s performance in the last five editions of the tournament.

Nigeria secured qualification in commanding fashion, overpowering South Africa in the penultimate qualifying round and sealing their spot with an emphatic victory over Algeria in the final stage.

Africa will be represented by five teams in the tournament: hosts Morocco, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and Nigeria.

This marks Nigeria’s seventh appearance at the U-17 Women’s World Cup. Their most impressive outing came in 2022, when the team clinched the bronze medal at the tournament held in India.

The 2025 edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will run from October 17 to November 8, with Morocco set to host the event for the first time.
