Nigeria’s Super Eagles settled for a 1-1 draw with Russia in an international friendly played at the iconic Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
The encounter saw Russia go ahead in the first half when Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net, handing the hosts an early advantage.

Despite the early mishap, the Super Eagles matched their opponents with a determined first-half display, keeping the contest competitive and balanced.
After the break, Nigeria came out with renewed purpose and increased their attacking intensity, constantly testing the Russian backline.
Their persistence was eventually rewarded when striker Tolu Arokodare found the back of the net with a composed finish, marking his debut goal for the national team and restoring parity.
Both teams pushed for a late winner in an open and spirited conclusion to the game, but neither side was able to convert their chances.
With this result, Nigeria wrapped up their May/June international window without suffering a defeat.
