Bandit leaders surrender arms, free 16 hostages in Katsina

Several notorious bandit kingpins operating in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State have laid down their arms and freed 16 abducted victims as part of a coordinated disarmament effort.

The development took place on Saturday under the supervision of Operation Fasin Yamma, in partnership with local community leaders and stakeholders.

Among those who surrendered were prominent bandit figures including Kamulu Buzaru, Manore, Nagwaggo, Lalbi, Alhaji Sani, Dogo Baidu, Dogo Nahalle, and Abdulkadir Black.

The group handed over seven women and nine children to authorities and promised to release more hostages still in their custody by Sunday.

In a statement, the Nigerian Army confirmed that the surrendered weapons have been safely secured and the rescued victims have been transferred to local government officials for proper care and reintegration.
