Assault: Court grants N500,000 bail to Abia rep, Alex Ikwechegh

Date:

Alex Ikwechegh, the House of Representatives member for Aba North and South, has been granted bail set at N500,000, by a Kuje Magistrate Court, on Wednesday.

Ikwechegh faces charges for allegedly assaulting a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya, outside his home in Abuja.

Deji Adeyanju, the driver’s attorney, had confirmed that Ikwechegh was scheduled to appear in court at noon on Wednesday.

The lawmaker gained publicity after a video surfaced on social media, purportedly showing him threatening the driver and asserting he could make him “disappear without a trace.”
