The Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has strongly condemned remarks made by Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s (LP) Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, regarding Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Baba-Ahmed had, during an appearance on Arise News approximately a week ago, launched a veiled attack on Vice President Shettima.
While discussing speculations about President Bola Tinubu potentially reconsidering the Vice Presidential slot ahead of the 2027 elections, Baba-Ahmed asserted that President Tinubu had displayed “rare patience” in retaining Shettima in office for this duration.
He implied that there were significant undisclosed facts about the Vice President that, if known, would preclude his continued stay in office. Baba-Ahmed, however, declined to elaborate on these alleged “truths.”

Responding to these insinuations on Arise News on Wednesday night, Minister Musawa sharply criticised the LP chieftain’s comments, labeling them “dangerous.”
“What was he trying to say? I didn’t understand what he was trying to say.
“He was making insinuations, very dangerous insinuations based on lies, and I think it’s a real shame. I think Datti needs to apologize to VP (Shettima),” she said.
