The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has been flown out of London, United Kingdom, en route to Daura, Katsina State, for a state burial in his honour.
His remains were transported aboard a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft early Tuesday, before 8 a.m.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and other senior government officials accompanied the late president’s body on the flight.

Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at around 4:30 p.m. in a London hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 82. The exact nature of his illness has not been disclosed.
President Bola Tinubu is expected to receive the late president’s remains in Katsina by noon on Tuesday.
