Osimhen’s Galatasaray move stalls as Napoli tables fresh demands

Date:

Victor Osimhen’s potential move from Napoli to Galatasaray remains unresolved, with Napoli reportedly introducing new demands that are holding up the deal.

Although Galatasaray has agreed to meet Napoli’s €75 million valuation, the Serie A club is insisting on specific payment terms.

Napoli has rejected Galatasaray’s proposal to pay €40 million upfront and settle the remaining €35 million in installments.

Instead, the Italian club is asking for the entire balance to be paid by the end of 2026 and is demanding 20% of any future transfer fee should Osimhen be sold again.

This standoff echoes the uncertainty that surrounded Osimhen’s status last summer.

According to Football Italia, the Nigerian striker previously submitted a medical report to skip Napoli’s pre-season, highlighting ongoing frustrations with his situation.

Transfer analyst Matteo Moretto confirmed that Napoli is holding firm on receiving the full balance within the stipulated timeframe, along with the substantial sell-on clause.

Further details from Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu indicate that the requested 20% resale clause is considered unusually high given Osimhen’s career trajectory and high profile.

Meanwhile, Osimhen was absent from Napoli’s opening pre-season training session under new coach Antonio Conte, reportedly submitting a medical note while awaiting the finalization of his permanent switch to Galatasaray.

Though the transfer is still pending official confirmation, Osimhen remains under contract with Napoli.

The 26-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Galatasaray last season, netting 37 goals and recording 8 assists in 41 matches.

Despite renewed efforts by Napoli to persuade him to consider a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, Osimhen has made it clear he is not interested in joining the Saudi Pro League at this stage of his career.
