Real Madrid are reportedly considering parting ways with Brazilian forward Rodrygo, with the club said to be open to offers starting from €100 million (£87m/$116m), putting the player’s future firmly in the spotlight.
Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano shared on his YouTube channel that talks are ongoing between Rodrygo and the club hierarchy regarding a potential exit.
While the 24-year-old remains emotionally connected to Madrid, the club appears willing to facilitate a departure if the right offer comes in.

Although it’s rare for the Spanish giants to sell key players at the peak of their potential, Rodrygo’s standing within the squad has changed. The arrival of Kylian Mbappé and the continued prominence of Vinícius Jr. have relegated Rodrygo to more of a squad role, especially under new manager Xabi Alonso. He featured minimally during the Club World Cup, often coming off the bench, and may be questioning his role moving forward.

Adding complexity to a potential transfer is Rodrygo’s high wage demands, which could be a significant factor for any interested club. Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are among those reportedly monitoring the situation.
Romano explained the current state of play: “Rodrygo and Real Madrid will have more rounds of conversations. Rodrygo is in front of a big change, a big opportunity. He got the impression while speaking to Real Madrid that the club are not closing the doors on him. If he wants to go, for Real Madrid, the player can go. Those are the conditions of the deal.”
Seeing reports of €80m, from what I am hearing, Real Madrid want way more than this. They will probably start over €100m, then this price could be reduced.
Real Madrid are opening the exit doors to Rodrygo. At the same time, Rodrygo has to decide. On one side, there is the opportunity to go abroad and experience a new club, another chance to be a star elsewhere.
“On the other hand, Rodrygo is still in love with Real Madrid. It is not easy for Rodrygo to make this decision. Rodrygo loves the club, he loves Real Madrid, he feels that he can still give a lot to the club. So it is a complicated moment, where he has to make a big decision. If Rodrygo decides to leave, there will be a lot of movements around him, for sure. From Premier League clubs, and not only. So, the Rodrygo case will continue in the coming days. More than by Real Madrid, this may be decided by Rodrygo himself.”
Despite the sizeable asking price, interest in the attacker is expected to be strong. A move to England would likely position him as one of the marquee signings of the summer—rivaling the likes of Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz in terms of impact and attention.
As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on whether Rodrygo decides to seek a new chapter in his career or remain loyal to Los Blancos. The final decision, it appears, will rest largely in his hands.
