FG approves N1bn for police training institute in Jigawa

The federal government has greenlit N1 billion for the immediate commencement of a new Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, Jigawa State.

This significant development was confirmed by Senator Abdulhamid Madori, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (JSGCEP) held in Kafin Hausa on Sunday.

Senator Madori announced that the Senate has already passed the bill for the institute’s establishment, with the necessary funds allocated in the 2025 budget.

“The construction of a police training institute in Kafin Hausa has undergone all processes and been passed into law by the Senate and is waiting for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s assent for immediate commencement of the project,” he stated.

The institute aims to significantly enhance police capabilities, fostering better and more up-to-date policing methods across the country.

In a further show of commitment to local security, Senator Madori also revealed that his committee donated a brand new Toyota Hilux to the Kafin Hausa local government divisional police headquarters and renovated the police barracks to boost the morale of security operatives in the area.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, Senator Madori thanked the people of Kafin Hausa for their engagement during his visit.
