Lookman, Iwobi, Ekong, Aina, 2 others pledge N24m to Super Falcons for WAFCON victory

Six Super Eagles of Nigeria players have donated N1 million to each member of the Super Falcons squad in anticipation of the team’s victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the six players who donated are William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo.

The players pooled N24 million, which would be divided equally among all 24 Super Falcons players.

The Super Falcons won Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title on Saturday in Morocco.

The team came from two goals down to defeat the host country 3-2 in the final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi and Jennifer Echegini were the goal scorers for the Falcons in the dramatic triumph.
