Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has officially reinstated 81 government appointees who were suspended for a month over their absence at a key state function.
The suspension, which took effect last month, affected a wide range of political and administrative officers, including 25 commissioners, 14 senior special assistants, 24 special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries.

At the time, Governor Nwifuru had taken disciplinary action against the officials for their failure to attend what was described as an “important” state event.
His Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, announced that the officials would serve a “one-month working suspension without salary.”
However, in a follow-up statement released on Tuesday and signed by Uzor, the governor directed that the suspension be lifted, allowing the affected officials to return to their respective offices.
He further instructed that the reinstated commissioners, SSAs, SAs, and permanent secretaries should “resume official duties immediately.”
