He posted: “Nigeria Police Force has capitulated to the demands of the revolutionary movt, I have been released from unjust, illegal & unwarranted detention. However, it is nothing to celebrate, but thank u for not giving up! #RevolutionNow.”

Sowore was reportedly detained on Wednesday, August 6, in Abuja, following a summons by law enforcement concerning multiple complaints lodged against him.
While in custody, reports emerged that Sowore was physically assaulted by officers and moved to an undisclosed location without notifying his legal representatives, a move that drew widespread condemnation.
Numerous civil society groups and labour organizations, including the Nigerian Labour Congress, criticised the authorities for what they described as a disregard for due process and a violation of Sowore’s rights.
In a statement explaining the rationale behind the detention, Commissioner of Police, CP Abayomi Shogunle, pointed to two petitions—one accusing Sowore of falsifying a police document and the other involving cyberbullying.
He claimed Sowore’s unwillingness to submit a statement contributed to the length of his detention.
