Shooting Stars’ newly appointed assistant coach, Akin Olowokere, has died after collapsing during a training session on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, where the team was preparing for the ValueJet Cup 2025.

Olowokere, a former player and coach for Sunshine Stars, was immediately attended to by medical staff and rushed to a nearby hospital, but he passed away.
Olowokere was one of several coaches recently appointed by the club, known as the Oluyole Warriors, following the departure of the previous coaching staff led by Gbenga Ogunbote.
