FG launches N10m staff support portal for tertiary institutions

The administration of President Bola Tinubu has opened the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) portal for academic and non-academic staff across universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The initiative provides interest-free loans of up to N10 million, with a maximum repayment period of five years and a one-year moratorium.

Beneficiaries can use the fund for transportation, small-scale agro-business ventures, medical expenses, family support, accommodation, and academic advancement.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, thanked President Tinubu for approving the initiative, describing the TISSF as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to education and staff welfare. He noted that the fund complements the successful student-oriented NELFUND program.

The TISSF is part of the National Education Sector Renewal Implementation (NESRI) framework, with monitoring mechanisms and guardrails in place to ensure smooth implementation.
