Harris accepts election loss, congratulates Donald Trump

Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s candidate in the 2024 US presidential election, has congratulated Donald Trump on his victory.

Trump, the Republican nominee, secured the presidency on Wednesday by surpassing the critical threshold of 270 electoral votes.

According to BBC, Harris reached out to Trump, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful transition of power and the need for the president to represent all Americans.

The Vice President is set to address the public later today with remarks at Howard University.

Trump’s win makes him the 47th President of the United States, defeating Harris to claim the presidency.

Global leaders, including Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, have also extended their congratulations to the newly elected president.
