Security operatives in Ogun State have arrested individuals suspected to be officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in possession of large sums of money allegedly meant for vote-buying during the state by-election.
The suspects, which included a politician and two INEC staff (a man and a woman), were apprehended on Saturday at a hotel in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area.

In a viral video, the INEC officials were seen squatting as security agents interrogated them.
Some persons alleged to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were also present at the scene.
The security officer leading the interrogation alleged that intelligence reports had earlier indicated that the officials had been bribed by party operatives to influence the election outcome.
