Army announces two-day schedule for Lagbaja’s burial

The Nigerian Army has announced a two-day schedule for the burial of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Taoreed Lagbaja.

Lagbaja, aged 56, passed away last Tuesday in Lagos following a battle with an undisclosed illness.

Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army spokesperson, shared the details in a post on X on Tuesday.

The service of songs will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Army Headquarters Garrison Parade Ground, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja.

The funeral service is scheduled for Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the National Christian Centre in Abuja’s Central Business District, followed by the final interment at the National Military Cemetery from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. the same day.
