Super Eagles qualify for AFCON 2025

Date:

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, thanks to Libya’s 1-0 win against Rwanda in Kigali.

The result means Rwanda, now with five points from five matches, can no longer surpass Nigeria in the standings, even if they win their upcoming fixture against the Super Eagles in Uyo.

Nigeria currently sits at the top of Group D with 10 points, ahead of Benin (6 points), Rwanda (5 points), and Libya (4 points). While the Super Eagles have secured their spot, Benin is still in contention for the second qualification spot.

The race for the remaining spot heats up as Benin faces Nigeria in a decisive encounter tonight.

Meanwhile, Libya will wrap up their campaign by hosting Benin in the final Group D match on Monday.
