Nigeria’s Super Eagles concluded their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a surprising 2-1 loss to Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Monday.
Despite already securing their spot in the tournament as Group D winners, the Super Eagles failed to maintain their unbeaten run.
The Eagles took the lead in the 59th minute thanks to a brilliant solo effort from Samuel Chukwueze.
However, Rwanda staged a remarkable comeback with quick goals from Ange Mutsinzi and Innocent Nshuti, earning their first-ever victory over Nigeria.
The defeat marks the first under interim manager Augustine Eguavoen.
