Ghana election: Police arrest four after shooting left one dead

Ghana Police Service have confirmed a shooting incident in Nyankpala in the northern region of the country during the presidential election.

According to a statement by the police, one person was killed in the shooting and another injured.

The police also said four persons — Majid Issah, Fodi Kamara, Yakubu Simalia and Bashiru Mohamed — have been arrested over the incident.

“The injured victim is currently receiving medical care, while the body of the deceased is taken to the morgue for preservation and autopsy,” the statement said.

Soldiers have also been deployed to restore calm to the area.
