The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly stated that President Bola Tinubu holds a clear political advantage over former President Olusegun Obasanjo, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
In a sharp rebuke, APC National Publicity Director Bala Ibrahim downplayed any potential threat from the trio, confidently asserting that they simply lack the political muscle to challenge Tinubu.
Ibrahim’s remarks came in response to the recent meeting between Kwankwaso, Donald Duke, and Obasanjo in Ogun State. While Kwankwaso framed the gathering as a constructive discussion on national issues, Ibrahim dismissed it as insignificant, emphasising that Tinubu’s political influence far eclipses that of the three leaders combined.

He further stressed that no matter how united Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, and Duke may be, their collective efforts would fall short of making any meaningful impact in Nigerian politics.
He said: “But when it comes to the politics of Nigeria, particularly contemporary politics, Tinubu is not their mate.
“Tinubu is head and shoulders above them in modern politics in Nigeria. So the combination of Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, and Donald Duke, who was my schoolmate, does not present a threat to Tinubu. These are people who were trashed in the last election.
“So they can have marathon meetings and meet till the end of time, but they will not present any threat to the government of APC. Who among Kwankwaso, Obasanjo, Obi, Duke was not beaten? If they are bringing angels, it’s a different story.”
