The House of Representatives has summoned the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, and the Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, regarding the alleged unlawful detention of Bello Bodejo, the president of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore.
During a plenary session on Thursday, lawmakers called on Musa and Oluyede to ensure the immediate release of Bodejo and issue a public apology for violating his fundamental human rights, which are constitutionally guaranteed.
This resolution followed the adoption of a motion presented by Mansur Soro, a representative from Bauchi State.

The motion came after Bodejo’s family claimed that he had been detained by the 117 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Maliya, Nasarawa State, last week.
His brother, Suleiman Waziri, stated that the arrest stemmed from an incident involving some herders and a retired army general in the Tudun Wada area of Nasarawa.
Soro, in his motion, described the arrest as a “commando-style” action, carried out without prior notice or a court order. He pointed out that one week after his arrest and imprisonment, Bodejo had not been formally charged in court.
The motion was approved after Speaker Tajudeen Abbas called for a voice vote.
As a result, Musa, Oluyede, and the commanding officer of the 177 Battalion have been ordered to appear before the committees on Army, Human Rights, and Justice on Thursday.
