Insecurity, banditry to end in 2025, says CDS Musa

Date:

General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has named 2025 as the year when Nigeria’s military will decisively combat and eradicate banditry, terrorism, and other security concerns across the country.

General Musa made the announcement during a visit to Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) troops in Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State, where he praised the military’s successes in defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and asked troops to redouble their efforts.

“This year, 2025, will be a decisive year for Nigeria’s security. We must make it the year we finally eradicate banditry, terrorism, and all forms of insecurity threatening our great nation,” General Musa stated.

The CDS applauded the troops’ devotion and bravery, but emphasized the significance of maintaining the momentum.

During his visit, General Musa examined weapons and ammunition seized by OPSH and observed a guard of honour in his honor.

General Musa took part in a push-up exercise alongside Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd Division and OPSH Commander.

He claimed the drill demonstrated their commitment to the battle against insurgency.
