Date:

Unidentified gunmen have kidnapped at least 46 persons, including women and children, during an attack on Gana in Zamfara State.

Residents told Reuters that the incident occurred about 10 p.m. on Sunday.

It was stated that hundreds of militants on motorcycles stormed the area while firing intermittently, destroying many homes and businesses.

The event occurred around a month after gunmen reportedly kidnapped 43 people in Kakidawa, Gidan Goga area, Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers fired randomly, forcing locals to flee into adjacent woods.

They said that the perpetrators then went home to house, abducting women and children who couldn’t flee.
