Kidnappers kill banker after collecting ransom, dump corpse on roadside in Anambra

Kidnappers reportedly killed a banker in Anambra State after receiving a ransom from the family.

The deceased, simply known as Ifeoma, was said to have been abducted in Onitsha.

Harrison Gwamnishi, a human rights activist, claimed in a Facebook post on Tuesday that the perpetrators murdered and dumped her body near Ideani intersection on the Nnobi/Alor route.

Gwamnishi also shared a photo of a woman’s corpse by the roadway.

“Ifeoma, a banker was kidnapped in Anambra State. Ransom was demanded and the family paid but her abductors still k!lled her and dumped her body around along Ideani junction Nnobi/Alor road Anambra.

“Lives are being taken daily and it’s sad nothing is being done to end all this k!llings. WHO IS NEXT? If we keep fold our hands and do nothing, it will may get to you,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the development, stressing that the corpse had been evacuated from the road.

Ikenga said, “The command received the information about an abandoned female corpse found along the Nnobi-Alor Road allegedly dumped by suspected kidnappers.

“The corpse has been evacuated, the pictures have been escalated and investigations have begun to unravel the circumstances behind the death of the victim.”
