The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended its congratulations to Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.
The message was conveyed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement emphasized the longstanding and historic relationship between Nigeria and the U.S., underscoring the two nations’ collaborative efforts in key areas such as good governance, sustainable development, and the global fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing its strategic partnership with the U.S. under President Trump’s leadership, with a focus on advancing the interests and well-being of citizens in both countries.
The government expressed eagerness to continue working together with the U.S. to address pressing global challenges and foster mutual growth.

Donald Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday in a historic inauguration ceremony held inside the Capitol Rotunda, following adverse weather conditions.
As reported by CNN, Trump took the oath of office, administered by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, pledging to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution.”
