The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has announced the pump prices for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) obtained from the Dangote Refinery.
In a statement by NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, the prices will vary across different regions of the country due to transportation costs and other factors. The highest prices are expected in the far north, with Borno State potentially seeing prices as high as N1,019 per liter. In contrast, Lagos and its environs will likely have the lowest prices at N950 per liter.
The NNPC clarified that the government does not set fuel prices, and the company is negotiating directly with Dangote Refinery for the purchase of PMS. The initial transactions will be in US dollars, with naira transactions starting on October 1, 2024.
The NNPC also addressed the recent disagreement with Dangote Group over the selling price of PMS.
The company stated that it has obtained the estimated pump prices directly from the refinery and will be implementing them across its retail stations nationwide.

The NNPC has assured the public that any discounts obtained from Dangote Refinery will be passed on to consumers in full.
