The Edo Government has officially declared Friday, September 20, as a work-free day to facilitate travel for workers and voters ahead of the state’s governorship election on Saturday.
In a statement released by Joseph Eboigbe, Secretary to the Edo State Government, the announcement aims to ensure that everyone can reach their polling locations without any hindrance.
Eboigbe emphasized, “This work-free day is designed to help workers and all eligible voters travel to their voting areas in preparation for the September 21 governorship election.”
He also reassured the public that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to guarantee a free, fair, and credible electoral process.
“Government wishes everyone safe travels and emphasizes its commitment to a smooth election,” he added.
