Champions League playoffs: Man City, Bayern, Madrid, 13 others to face off for last-16 slot

The stage is set for the inaugural UEFA Champions League knockout phase playoffs.

The playoffs begin this week when several European heavyweights will compete for a spot in the Champions League Round of 16.

The opening leg games will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (11 and 12), while the return leg fixtures are next week on Tuesday and Wednesday (18 and 19), respectively.

The playoffs will include 16 clubs, including Brest, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, PSV Eindhoven, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Sporting CP, Borussia Dortmund, Club Brugge, Atalanta, Monaco, Benfica, Celtic, Bayern Munich, Feyenoord, and AC Milan.

It should be noted that just eight of the 16 teams will advance to the Round of 16 stage, joining the other eight teams already there.

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, Leverkusen, Lille, and Liverpool have already advanced to the round of 16, following the conclusion of the group round last month.

Tuesday’s matches:
Brest vs Paris Saint-Germain

Juventus vs PSV Eindhoven

Manchester City vs Real Madrid

Sporting CP vs Borussia Dortmund

Wednesday’s matches:

Club Brugge vs Atalanta:

Monaco vs Benfica

Celtic vs Bayern Munich

Feyenoord vs AC Milan
