Nigerian hits 28 hours in 50-hour stand-up comedy GWR attempt

Date:

Nigerian comedian, Laff Ijuo, has made it to 28 hours in his attempt to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest stand-up comedy show by an individual.

His goal is to perform for 50 hours, and he’s already placed himself in the top 3 of the longest stand-up comedy shows ranking.

Ijuo’s attempt, named ‘Laughter for a Cause,’ started on February 14 at the Banex Mall in Lekki, Lagos, and is being live-streamed across his social media platforms.

What’s more, he’s doing it all for a good cause – to raise $1 million for the Talent City Naija (TCN) project, a hub for Nigeria’s young and talented individuals to thrive.

The current record for the longest stand-up comedy show is held by American comedian David Scott, who performed for 40 hours and 8 minutes in 2013.

Ijuo has already surpassed 28 hours and has 22 hours left to break the record. He’s urging everyone to support and cheer him on for the remaining hours.
