VDM Declares Before Reps Panel: “If I Speak, Let Me Die”

Date:

Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has refused to provide further details on the allegations involving Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. Bobrisky had claimed that officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) demanded ₦15 million from him in exchange for serving his prison term in the VIP section of Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre, Lagos.

During his appearance before the Investigating Committee, VDM expressed frustration, saying, “I don’t understand why I’m here, and the person who made these allegations isn’t.”

Referring to Bobrisky, he added, “Bobrisky mentioned in a voice note that there is a godfather. Maybe the godfather advised him not to attend. He has shown disrespect to this committee by not appearing.”

VDM further stated, “You’re already threatening me with arrest. If I’m detained, I’ll remain in the cell. But if Bobrisky isn’t here, I won’t speak. If I say anything, let me die.”

At the time of this report, committee members were attempting to persuade VDM to cooperate, promising that Bobrisky would also be called before the panel.
