Senator Natasha reacts after suspension by Senate

Date:

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has reacted to her six-month suspension by the Godswill Akpabio-led Nigerian Senate.

Recall that on Thursday, the Nigerian Senate slammed Natasha with a six-month suspension over her face-off with Senate President Akpabio.

However, in a viral video after her suspension, Senator Natasha said: “This injustice will not be sustained,” before her microphone was yanked off.

According to reports, her suspension followed recommendations from the Senate Committee.

This comes after the confrontation between Senator Natasha and Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements.

Natasha’s suspension is set to last for six months. During this period, she will still receive her salary.

Accordingly, the senator will not be allowed within the premises of the National Assembly while her suspension lasts.

Additionally, her security details will be withdrawn.

Recall that the face-off intensified when Natasha accused Akpabio of victimization after allegedly rejecting his sexual advances.

However, on Wednesday, Akpabio described the allegation as false and baseless.

Earlier, the Senate Committee on Ethics, Rules, and Code of Conduct invited Natasha, but she failed to appear on Monday.

During Thursday’s plenary, Senator Natasha resubmitted her petition against Senate President Akpabio.

Reacting, the Senate pledged to investigate her petition.
