Knocks, kudos as Timaya cries out against activities of herders in Bayelsa farms

Date:

Knocks and kudos have continued to trail Nigerian singer’s Timaya, post on herders destroying farmlards in Bayelsa State.

In a post on X, the ‘Cold Outside’ hitmaker expressed frustration over the open grazing issue and called on the government to take action.

The post reads “Pls, the government should do something. They are destroying farms in Bayelsa, Aboki take your cows inside and feed them. This is so sad.”

Timaya’s post generated a lot of mixed reactions from X users. While some praised him for speaking out against the issue, others criticized him for his past association with the ruling government.

One user accused Timaya of only speaking out because the issue now affects him and his people.

An X user identified as Irunnia, wrote: “You are now complaining because the insecurity touched you and your people? Use the money you collected from APC to hire vigilantes for Bayelsa state.”

“I don’t understand why would someone bring his cow come to my land and eat my farm? Na ment?” another user added.

The open grazing issue has been a contentious topic in Nigeria, with many calling for the government to take action to prevent herders from destroying farms and crops.

Timaya’s post adds to the growing chorus of voices calling for change.
