Portable apologises to Saheed Osupa

Date:

Controversial Nigerian music artist, Portable, has tendered an apology to renowned Fuji singer, Saheed Osupa, for insulting him over a copyright claim.

The controversy started when one of Portable’s song was removed from Apple Music and Spotify due to copyright infringement. Portable had used a line similar to Osupa’s style, leading to Osupa’s team filing a complaint.

Portable, initially, lashed out at Osupa, using derogatory terms like ‘big for nothing’, which caused an uproar on social media. He later took to Instagram to apologize, blaming his temper for the outburst.

Acknowledging that money was the root of their dispute and can destroy relationships, the Zazoo Zeh hitmaker said he wasn’t aware the song has been removed till he went to collect royalties, leading to the public feud.

He said “My fans, I am a hot-tempered person, I have said my mind and it has ended. My fans please forgive me. King Saheed Osupa Oba orin, please do not be offended.

“It is money that causes a fight, that destroys siblings’ relationship and causes a fight between father and son. It was music money that caused our fight.

“It was when I went to collect money for the song that I was told it has been removed from streaming platforms. Please, my daddy, forgive me and adopt me as your child.”

Osupa is yet to respond to him as at press time.
