The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized Kano State’s Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam, over his controversial accusations against Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje.
Abdulsalam, a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)-led administration in Kano, recently alleged that Professor Hafsat, the wife of former Governor and current APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was involved in financial misconduct during her husband’s tenure.
In a widely circulated video, Abdulsalam claimed that pension funds were manipulated under Professor Hafsat’s watch, with pensioners allegedly receiving payments only after she took her share of the funds.

The APC quickly responded, with Ahmad S. Aruwa, the party’s Publicity Secretary in Kano, vehemently condemning the allegations.
In an interview with Express Radio, Aruwa described Abdulsalam’s statements as defamatory and a violation of Nigeria’s constitutional rights.
He condemned the statements as an attempt to tarnish the reputation of Professor Hafsat Ganduje, calling them an act of character assassination.
Aruwa further warned that such inflammatory remarks could escalate tensions in Kano State, creating instability similar to the situation in Rivers State, which saw a state of emergency declared during the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
