The ongoing meeting between the two leaders is expected to focus on strengthening diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Ghana, while also addressing critical regional issues within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Areas of potential cooperation, including trade, security, and economic development, are anticipated to be high on the agenda.
This visit comes after Mahama’s initial courtesy call on President Tinubu in December 2024, shortly after his election as President.
Tinubu had expressed optimism that Mahama’s return to leadership would contribute to greater stability within ECOWAS.
