‘Batman’ star Val Kilmer dies of pneumonia at 65

Iconic American actor, Val Kilmer, has passed away at 65 due to pneumonia complications.

According to New York Times, Kilmer’s daughter, Mercedes, confirmed his death in Los Angeles, revealing that he had been battling throat cancer since 2014, but had recovered.

Kilmer’s illustrious career spanned over three decades, with notable roles in films like Top Gun, Batman Forever, The Ghost and the Darkness, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

He was known for his versatility and range, earning him admiration from colleagues and critics alike.

Despite his success, Kilmer faced challenges, including a reputation for being “difficult to work with” and publicized feuds with actors and directors.

In recent years, he had stepped back from acting due to health issues, including a tracheotomy that altered his voice.

Tributes have poured in from the film industry, with actors like Josh Brolin and Josh Gad sharing heartfelt messages.

Brolin remembered Kilmer as a “smart, challenging, brave, uber-creative firecracker,” while Gad thanked him for defining many of the movies of his childhood.
