In a deadly assault early Friday morning, suspected terrorists targeted Dan Auta village in the Sabuwa local government area of Katsina State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including a member of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC).

The attack occurred around 2 a.m. and also saw 13 people, including women and children, abducted.

Among those kidnapped was Alhaji Imamu, the chairman of the local All Progressives Congress (APC).

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants arrived in large numbers on motorcycles, armed with automatic weapons.

Despite the valiant efforts of KSCWC operatives and local vigilante groups to repel the attackers, they were significantly outnumbered.

One KSCWC member was killed while defending the community, and another victim was shot while trying to resist abduction.

Several residents sustained injuries during the attack and received treatment at a nearby primary healthcare center.

This incident highlights the ongoing security crisis in Katsina State, which, like many areas in the North-West, continues to face frequent assaults from terrorists, kidnappers, and cattle rustlers.

These criminal groups often exploit the expansive forested regions in Katsina and neighboring states as safe havens.
