Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu and renowned Nigerian-American chef Kwame Onwuachi have been named to TIME Magazine’s prestigious list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2025—an annual recognition of global trailblazers reshaping industries and inspiring change.

Mo Abudu, founder of EbonyLife Group, has been lauded for her transformative work in media and entertainment. Known for championing authentic African narratives, Abudu has carved a space for African storytelling on the global stage through film, television, and content production.

Her recognition was accompanied by a tribute from award-winning actor Idris Elba, with whom she is currently collaborating on a film project. “She has an infectious, can-do attitude and the tenacity to overcome any obstacle in her way,” Elba wrote. “Her sprawling empire—from studios and productions to cinemas and a creative academy—is testament to that.”
