Eedris Abdulkareem defies govt ban, launches ‘Tell Your Papa’ challenge

Date:

Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, has launched the ‘Tell Your Papa’ challenge on social media despite the Nigerian government’s ban on his song.

Recall that the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, banned the song, citing it as ‘inappropriate and offensive’, while Abdulkareem claims the ban is an attempt to silence truth-tellers and suppress criticism.

The song ‘Tell Your Papa’ is an anti-Tinubu song that has generated controversy and sparked debate. The NBC’s decision to ban the song has been met with criticism, with many seeing it as an attempt to suppress free speech and stifle dissenting voices.

Despite the ban, the singer has launched the ‘Tell Your Papa’ challenge, encouraging his followers to speak out and make their voices heard.

Sharing the challenge post, Abdulkareem wrote “Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence. There is a time to speak and a time to keep silent. This is the time to speak and make your voices heard.”
