Nigerian comedian Deeone has sparked heated discussions across social media after boldly claiming that Tanzanian music superstar, Diamond Platnumz, is wealthier than Nigeria’s top musical heavyweights — Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy — combined.
Taking to his Instagram page, Deeone did not mince words in expressing his newfound admiration for East African musicians, specifically Diamond Platnumz, whom he described as a living embodiment of real wealth.

According to Deeone, the flamboyant singer’s recent show of opulence during the high-profile wedding ceremony of Tanzanian personalities Prescilia and Juma Jux, was far beyond anything he had ever witnessed from West African stars.

“Diamond Platnumz is richer than Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy together. I did not believe that East African artists were this wealthy. I did not believe in my life,” Deeone said.
Deeone recounted how the East African music icon reportedly spent more than $350,000 in cash during the wedding festivities — not just at the main event, but also during the after-party, club outings, traditional wedding, and white wedding ceremonies.”This one is no noise. We are seeing the money,” Deeone emphasized.
“He came for a wedding… and he has spent more than $350,000. Cash! Cash! The list that he gave everybody that he saw was $100.”

He further added that Diamond was so generous that he handed out $100 bills — worth about ₦170,000 — even to police officers present at the event, a figure Deeone pointed out is more than most of them earn monthly. “That is more than their salary. That is the real money,” he remarked.
In a sharp contrast, Deeone criticized the perceived “fake life” of Nigerian artists, accusing many of them of making promises they never fulfill and flaunting counterfeit luxury goods just to maintain a celebrity image.
“Our artists, they will promise you something, Baba, until you put them on social media, they will not give you. We do not want to start bringing examples, but this is a lesson to especially our artists in Nigeria. You guys should calm down.”

“Our own, almost all our celebrities are so fake. Fake life, almost all of them.”
He went on to condemn the practice of wearing counterfeit designer brands, saying it tarnishes the country’s image and misleads fans.
“If you are wearing a fake luxury brand, if you do not know how to get money, go and wear Adire, or go and wear Ashoki,” he advised, while applauding East African artists for their authenticity and quiet wealth.
Deeone concluded his passionate monologue with a heartfelt salute to Diamond Platnumz and his fellow East African entertainers.

“Omo, I respect you, Diamond Platnumz, and every East African artist. This is a big shout out to you guys. You guys are the real money. Not all this noise that we do here.”
The comedian’s comments have since gone viral, igniting a firestorm of reactions online. While some users praised him for “speaking the truth,” others accused him of downplaying the success and generosity of Nigerian superstars.
As the debate rages on, one thing is clear — Deeone has struck a nerve, forcing fans and artists alike to reflect on the difference between hype and genuine affluence in Africa’s music industry.
