Nigerian Grammy-nominated artist, Rema, has redeemed himself at Coachella after facing technical difficulties during his first appearance.
Rema took to the stage for the second weekend of the festival, held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, and delivered an electrifying performance.
Rema performed his hit songs, including his record making song, ‘Calm Down’; ‘Azaman’ and ‘Yayo’ which got the crowd moving; party starters that thrilled the audience ‘Bounce’ and ‘Ozeba’; ‘Soundgasm’, ‘HEHEHE’, and ‘Favorite Girl’ by Darkoo, where he launched into his verse.
Rema’s first performance was marred by technical issues, including malfunctioning in-ear monitors and microphone problems.
Despite arriving two hours before his set 30 minutes prior to his start time, the issues persisted, forcing him to lip-sync and shortening his performance.
However, Rema bounced back on the second weekend, delivering a flawless show that showcased his artistry.
The festival has attracted thousands of attendees, featuring over 100 artists, including: Post Malone, Green Day, Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Jennie, Ty Dolla $ign, and Shaboozey
Nigerian artists are Seun Kuti, who made history in 2012 as the first Nigerian to perform at Coachella and holds the record for most Coachella appearances by a Nigerian artist; Burna Boy, CKay, Spinall, Fireboy, and Tems, who performed in 2024 with Wizkid and Justin Bieber.
Rema’s performance solidifies his position as a global music star, bringing Afrobeats to the California desert and leaving a lasting impression on the festival stage.
