Spyro reveals career setback after colabo with Davido

Date:

Nigerian singer, Spyro has opened up about experiencing a career setback after collaborating with Davido and Mayorkun on his 2018 song “Funke” remix.

Despite the song’s initial success, Spyro claimed that he faced unexpected setbacks, including losing contact with his collaborators.

The singer shared his emotional struggle during an interview on HipTV, stating that he would often sit on his staircase and cry, feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of taking care of his parents and dealing with personal challenges.

Spyro said “I had a song back then that I had Davido and Mayorkun on it. I actually thought that my life was about to change. The song came out big, and I went back down all of a sudden.

“I sat down and thought about it because how do I go from working with Davido, vibing with Mayorkun and all those guys, and all of a sudden, they no longer even pick my calls anymore.

“I would just sit down on my staircase and cry because I needed to take care of my parents, but a lot of things were just going wrong.”

Spyro’s revelation highlights the unpredictable nature of the music industry and the challenges that come with collaborating with other artists.

Spyro gained fame in 2022 with his hit song ‘Who Is Your Guy?’ and has since collaborated with notable artists such as Tiwa Savage and Simi.
