Annie Macaulay, who was married to renowned Nigerian musician Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, officially acknowledged their separation during the 17th Headies Awards ceremony on Sunday evening held in Lagos.
The confirmation came when Macaulay appeared on stage to present the Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year award alongside Farooq Oreagba, who gained popularity as the “King of Steeze” at the 2024 Ojude Oba festival.

During her introduction, Macaulay made a telling correction to her name, signaling her return to her birth name.”Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” she stated, drawing enthusiastic response from the audience.

This public statement aligns with earlier indications of their separation.
Breakingng.com recalls in March, after being absent from social media for approximately two months following 2Baba’s announcement of their split, Macaulay returned to Instagram signing her posts as “Annie Uwana Macaulay,” deliberately omitting “Idibia” from her name.
The relationship between Macaulay and 2Baba, with two children, concluded in January 2025 when the musician formally announced their separation to the public.
