Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan and recognized for his influence on social media and activism, has been released from detention.
His release was disclosed on Wednesday evening on X by Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and member of the African Action Congress (AAC).

Earlier on Tuesday, May 6, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) confirmed that Otse had been granted bail.
However, the agency clarified that he would remain in their custody until he fulfilled all bail requirements.
According to the EFCC, Otse was taken into custody following his repeated failure to respond to multiple summons related to serious financial crime allegations.
