UPDATED: Tinubu sacks Gwarzo, Ade-John, Ibrahim, three other ministers

President Bola Tinubu has sacked six ministers from his cabinet.

Tinubu also nominated seven new Ministers in a major restructuring aimed at improving government operations.

The seven newly nominated ministers are: Nentawe Yilwatda (Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction); Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi (Minister of Labour & Employment); Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu (Minister of State Foreign Affairs; Jumoke Oduwole (Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment (Trade and Investment); Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Ministry of Livestock Development); Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development) and Suwaiba Said Ahmad (Minister of State Education).

The sack was disclosed in a statement shared via the X handle of the Presidency after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the following ministers were relieved of their duties: Tahir Mamman, (Minister of Education), Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, (Minister of Women Affairs), Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Minister of Youth Development) Lola Ade-John (Minister of Tourism) Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, (Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development); and the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu.
