Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, has raised alarm over an 18-year-old boy who allegedly impregnated 10 girls within a span of five months.
According to Obinabo, the boy’s exploits came to light after he impregnated his master’s daughter and a salesgirl while serving as an apprentice.
The Commissioner disclosed that the boy was dismissed from his job after the incidents came to light. However, he was later sent back to his village, where he allegedly impregnated eight more girls within three months.
Obinabo expressed distress over the case, citing the boy’s young age and the unusually high number of pregnancies.
The Commissioner questioned whether the situation could be spiritual in nature and appealed to the public for advice on handling the situation.
According to Obinabo, the boy claimed he lured the girls by telling them he loved them and intended to marry them once he became wealthy.
She has appealed to the public for help in addressing the situation, stating that the matter is beyond her capacity. The case has sparked concern among residents and state authorities, with many calling for intervention.
