The 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), held on May 10, 2025, was a landmark celebration of African storytelling, spotlighting some of Nollywood’s most accomplished talents and productions.

Femi Adebayo’s ‘Seven Doors’ emerged as one of the evening’s biggest winners, securing both Best Lead Actor for Adebayo and Best Lead Actress for Chioma Chukwuka—two of the ceremony’s most prestigious honours. The dual win cemented the film’s status as a cinematic force this year.

The night also honoured industry icons with emotional tributes and special awards. Veteran actors Sani Mu’azu and Nkem Owoh were presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards, celebrating their decades of contribution to African cinema. Director Kayode Kasum received the Trailblazer Award in recognition of his boundary-pushing work and fresh perspective in film and television.

As the ceremony unfolded at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, audiences across the continent tuned in to celebrate excellence in film, television, and digital storytelling.

Among the standout films of the night was Lisabi: The Uprising, which had already collected multiple technical awards by mid-show, signalling its wide-reaching impact and acclaim within the industry.
