Nigerian rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has ignited a heated debate online after claiming that fornication is not a sin.
The 34-year-old artist took to X on Sunday to share his assertion, which directly contradicts traditional biblical teachings.
The tweet drew strong reactions from social media users, particularly within religious circles.
Many Christians and conservative voices condemned Falz’s stance, citing biblical scriptures that classify fornication as immoral.
Some users accused the rapper of promoting ungodly values and questioned his moral integrity, referencing 1 Corinthians 6:18, which advises fleeing from fornication.
However, some defended Falz’s right to express his opinion, arguing that societal views on sexuality are evolving.
Falz has established himself as a household name in Nigerian music scene since his career began in 2009.
He is known for songs that address bad governance and societal ills, including “Child of the World” and “Talk”. The rapper has also ventured into acting, making his debut in the 2016 movie “Couple of Days”.
Recently, Falz opened up about his struggles with love and commitment, revealing that he’s still single because he hasn’t found someone who “likes me”, and has never told anyone “I love you” in a romantic sense.
